Nadek Nabam Crowned Miss Arunachal 2023 Amid Celebration of Culture and Talent

AMSAI, April 30 – Nadek Nabam has been crowned Miss Arunachal 2023 at the grand finale held on Saturday evening at Poi Pee Mau ground.

The prestigious beauty pageant, organized by the Miss Arunachal Organization under the aegis of the Arunachal Guild for Cultural Integration (AGCI) and in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated the rich cultural tapestry of the state.

Joining Nadek on the winners’ podium were Rachel Aran, who was declared first runner-up, and Ibi Kena, the second runner-up. The event showcased not just beauty and poise, but also the unity and diversity of Arunachal Pradesh.

The finale, marked by elegance and cultural splendor, reflected the event’s theme — “Flaunting Diversity and Celebrating Unity.” Chief Guest Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein lauded the pageant for embodying the true spirit of Arunachal, which is home to 26 major tribes and over 100 sub-tribes, each with a unique identity.

In his address, Mein emphasized that while the state is advancing in infrastructure such as roads, railways, hydropower, and telecommunications under the “double engine” government, it is the emerging talent of Arunachal’s youth that brings the greatest promise. To support and recognize these talents, he announced the launch of an Achiever’s Award next year, backed by a budget of ₹1 crore.

The event was attended by a host of dignitaries including MLAs Mutchu Mithi, Nyato Rigia, and Jummum Ete Deori, Likha Maaj, Chairman of Green Gold Integrated Farm, PRI leaders, government officials, and student representatives. (Source: Dy CM’s Media Cell)
